Disruptive Technologies - Part 3: the Music Editor and the Voice Changer

Ac rrimo critics of this definition evolution of technologies can still find or Napster or the VoIP epitomic disruptive technologies after reading Part 2 of my on Disruptive Technologies. This is logical, because what is truly Napster replaced debatable, and the technology VoIP still have to assume the traditional telephony.
Perhaps I should deepen deeper into the Napster impact VoIP and the next challenge to continue to prove my point, they are really disruptive technologies.
Peer-2-Peer is not very new (except the very end): the first P2P applications, USENET and FidoNet had already been developed in the 1980. However, Napster was the first popular P2P music sharing program. Their 1999 debut release has been so positive, especially for college students and amateur artists, the music industry trade was sent reeling. We will not further discuss the issues of legality, privacy and copyright invariantly that nearly engulf the theme of Napster, but rather, what was essentially disrupted.
Napster embodies revolutionizing the file-swapping technology that P2P has evolved since then, with the taste of KaZaa, LimeWire or eMule. It is said to have announced a new era of digital bits (not just music, but everything electronically encrypted) movement in the Net, from the central server approach to a peer network of individual computers worldwide. Indeed, as powerful network of computers and cheap bandwidth becomes available, peer-to-peer computing is transforming the way information is exchanged, stored and valued. It is winning the battle against the services of signature (a move by the computer giant to take on P2P technology). Too bad for the latter that P2P is cheap, or even free, and therefore very hard to beat.
With P2P is pure creativity that sustains the force: the music editor of software industry. It is fair to say that music publishers are somewhat underappreciated in place of P2P networks.
